Eddie’s Last Chance Becomes His New Lease

Nothing was going right for the ten year old yellow lab with severe degenerative joint disease in his hips and elbows.  Stem cell injections hadn’t worked in January or March of this year.  He was 7-10 on the pain scale and had more bad days than good ones.  His activity level?  Moving from one bed to another.  In April he came to Two Hands Four Paws for twice weekly sessions.  He received massage therapy, laser work and swimming.  And how things have changed!  He regularly walks up and down stairs, hikes the hills and even jumps into his humans’ laps!  They’re thrilled, the good days far outnumber the bad ones and Eddie is BACK!

An Angel Has Left Us

It hurts to write, but we must report the passing of one of the sweetest, gentlest and most loving dogs we have ever known.  Audrey was a stunning German Shepherd with long hair the color of midnight.  She passed after a well-fought battle with degenerative myelopathy, graceful and elegant until the end.  The world is a little smaller without her, but richer for those of us who knew her.  We loved our Audrey.

Reducing Misery in the Mojave

Bryan and Leslie spent a rough day in the Mojave Desert at the compound of a convicted animal abuser/hoarder currently awaiting sentencing.  The woman at one time had upwards of 320 dogs and cats living under deplorable conditions, including our own Casey.  Bryan and Leslie helped trap feral dogs, clean and repair damaged pens, provide shade, water and food to the many dogs still on the property.  They also transported a sweet lab mix back to L.A. for fostering.   A video will be posted once sentencing has been done and the horrible woman is behind bars.

Follow Joe’s Progress

Joe is a fun, loving and exuberant  eight year old lab recovering from serious back surgery.  He has been day-boarding at Two Hands Four Paws, and  the day after the staples came out he was in the pool.  It’s going to be a long haul to regain use of his legs but Joe, his owners and our staff are up to the challenge.  You can follow his progress with videos we’ll be posting.  Here’s the teaser:  Joe video 1
